About Orange County National - Crooked Cat (Winter Garden, FL)
Crooked Cat is a phenomenal complement to its highly acclaimed sister course, Panther Lake. Both courses host to the 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2010 PGA TOUR Qualifying School Finals, having been awarded 4.5 stars by Golf Digest's "Places to Play" every year since 1999. That's no easy accomplishment as there are only 52 courses in Florida with an equal rating, and no course in the state has earned five stars. With an entourage now of newly planted trees, wide-terraced fairways, and native redtop heather grass in the rough, this 7500-yard course is meticulously groomed and features a distinct Scottish "links" flavor - and NO HOMES! Elevation changes amongst rolling terrain are prevalent while wildlife abounds in this natural setting. "Grip it and rip it" ~ golf at its very best!

The staff has always treated us great and given the wide spread in our group's handicaps Crooked Cat plays fair for everyone. We are a bit concerned with what might happen to the facility when the new ownership takes over. Something we have found is the attitude of the staffs are different between a Golf facility like Orange County National and golf courses that are part of a major resort where golf is not the major attraction. Just hope it continues to be a well run operation.

This course is a MUST. Don't miss it if you are golfing in Orlando. We played this course in the AM and Panther Lake in the afternoon. Had a good lunch between rounds at the clubhouse restaurant. The entire operation is incredibly well run. I would go to Orlando for a week, just golf this course and be a happy camper. (OK... I would hop back and forth between this and the sister course, Panther Lake!). PUT THIS AT THE TOP OF YOUR LIST!!!

Simply great. The front 9 is not as beautiful as the rest of the facility (Panther and the back of Cat are spectacular) but it is an amazing facility with 2 superb courses. The greens are scheduled for reconstruction soon -- they will be lightning fast if Panther is the model for improvement.
